Birth Announcement
30 Jan 2010
Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.
Psalm 127v3
Peter and Genevieve de Deugd wish to announce with much thanksgiving and praise to the Lord the birth of their second child-a son! This precious gift from the Lord was born at 9:40am on Saturday, 30 January 2010 weighing 4570gms or 10lbs 1.
At the time of his birth Genevieve thought of the words of Eve, "With the help of the LORD, I have brought forth a man."
This little man the Lord has given to us is named Caleb Oliver de Deugd after two men of history: Caleb, son of Jephunneh, of the tribe of Judah and Oliver Cromwell.
We pray that our Caleb will be faithful, devoted and whole-hearted as his name means, but more than that, that he will fear God and not men as his namesake did. The name Oliver has old German roots and means, "heir of his ancestors" by which we hope to teach Caleb about the very great spiritual inheritance he receives from those who have gone before him.
The labour was only six hours long and a great answer to prayer. Blood loss was only 300ml and we are so thankful to the Lord that there was no medical emergency this time.
Praise God from Whom all blessings flow. Our God is so faithful, even when we are faithless; and strong when we are weak. Oh Lord, our Lord, how excellent is Your name in all the earth!
